Newbie on the Steinmetz Equation
|
| |
On the TSC Magnetics data sheet for material TSF-50ALL is this handy formula for ferrite core loss: Ploss = 0.08*(f^1.39)*(B^2.91) Also on the data sheet, there's a core loss graph at various frequencies. One data point is: @700Gauss @250khz Ploss = 100mW/cc Ok...I'd like to see if the graph and the eqn correlate..... more »

Quote of the Day

Quote of the day: "Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready... more »

RC with limiting current supply
|
| |
Let imagine a RC circuit that requires 20 uAmp to charge in 0.2 sec. But the electric source can supply only 1uAmp. Voltage is not a problem. We have enough to pass through the resistor. The question is what will happen with this limited current??? I think it will take more time to charge the capacitor compared with... more »

OT: UK okays warrantless remote hacking of PCs
|
| |
This is OT but 90% of the stuff here is. But I thought people here might (Eeyore) find it intresting. I found it at BBR. "Police have been given the power to hack into personal computers without a court warrant. The Home Office is facing anger and the threat of a legal challenge after granting permission. Ministers are... more »

dual connection of ignition coils question
|
| |
I wish to run two ignition coils in parallel (opposite phase) for increased voltage output. The driver circuit (not shown) is made to allow such a dual configuration. However, both ignition coils I'm using are slightly different, and I am unsure how to connect the high voltage grounds since there doesn't appear to be a distinct high voltage ground lead on one of the... more »

DC to Dc converter
|
| |
Hi all I am looking for a good DC to DC converter circuit that is good for tube absed guitar effects pedals . This circuit will use the low DC supply 12 vdc usually and will lift it to a high enugh voltage to drive an 12ax7 or ecc83 tube for example . Thanks EC
